Due to recent updated Environment Agency guidance Heeley Skips will not be accepting Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in our skips Hazardous substances or persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in waste electricals often has components that contain hazardous substances or persisten organic pollutants (POPs) at concentrations that could endanger human health if not treated and disposed of in the correct manner. These are our updated TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE: The skip allows you to load any combination of non hazardous waste, household, commercial, soil, rubble and garden waste. Waste classified by the government as HAZARDOUS waste cannot be accepted in the skip. Currently we cannot accept, ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, ASBESTOS, TYRES, FRIDGE/FREEZERS, CAR BATTERIES, FLUORESCENT TUBING, PAINT TINS, GAS CYLINDERS, TV & COMPUTER MONITORS. Any HAZARDOUS waste found concealed in the skip when it has been removed will be returned to the hirer. A £100 handling charge will be applied and the Environment Agency will be notified. LEVEL LOADING All skips must only be filled to a level load. No extension boards are allowed. Overloading is dangerous and illegal and out drivers in consideration to public safety and their driving licences will not uplift overloaded skips. DAMAGE TO HIRERS PROPERTY Whenever a skip is delivered and required by the hirer to be placed off the road, HEELEY SKIPS will not be liable for any damage caused. Often domestic driveways are not strong enough to withstand the wagon's weight, especially on full skip collection. Manholes, gate posts, gutters and down pipes can all be damaged in tight squeezes. For this reason skips placed off the road on the hirers instructions will be only placed there at the hirers absolute liability for any damage caused whatsoever. NO BURNING No fires are allowed in the skip. Full costs of repairing burned or damaged skips will be charged to the hirer for replacing buckled metalwork, all necessary welding and repainting of the skip.
